Graduation...sort of & New Shoes too!

Luke brought home his graduation robe from preschool this week. Although he is only 4 years old, the teachers wanted the whole class to participate in the graduation ceremony together. He's so excited! I only hope he doesn't get too sad when he realizes that he's not going on to Kindergarten just yet. He's been wearing the robe around the house and the other day he asked my to take his picture in it. He's so funny!

This week Logan also received THE CUTEST pair of shoes! He thinks he is such a big boy in them! They are Keen 100% Hybrid and they are the coolest. Totally waterproof and designed to be breathable at the same time...which is a good thing for big chubby feet like Logan's! When he saw me taking pictures of Luke, he had to get in on the action too. So here is Logan and his new shoes!

Cards, cards and more cards...

If you made it to the bottom of my ridiculously long post previously, then you know that I'm starting my new venture as a Stampin' Up rep. I've been a scrapbooker and card maker for years now and I absolutely love it! Lately I've been caught up on the card making end of things it seems. I've found it to be less involved (as far as getting supplies out) and it takes a shorter amount of time to produce something worthy enough to take care of my "fix". So I thought I'd share some things on here from time to time. These pictures aren't great but the fact that I got 3 cards accomplished in 1 day is great!

p.s. I opted to stamp this afternoon instead of downloading our pictures from our trip to Monterey this weekend to visit my brother and sis-in-law. So there's more updating to come...

I'm obviously bad at this!

Okay, so it seems as though I can't seem to get the hang of updating this thing. Don't get me wrong, I think about it everyday and I'm an avid follower of several other blogs (daily) however, I can't seem to come up with anything substantial to blog about. That, and I seem to have slipped in the picture taking category. And a blog without pictures isn't quite as exciting, ya know?

So here's a quick recap of the last couple of weeks...(without photos):

  • Lukas managed to lock Logan in the car and he was stuck in there for a little over an hour during the lunchtime hour. Good news: I had just pulled into the garage and it was only a 62 degree day. Nate had to drive home from a meeting in Stockton with the extra key and all was well. Logan didn't even have a meltdown! Me on the other hand...well...

  • My cousin's 8 month old baby was just now diagnosed with the same heart defect that Logan has and was admitted and then transferred to Kansas City Children's where they were able to temporarily balloon her aortic valve via catheterization and was later discharged home.

  • I found out my that my close friend and her family are moving to DC by the middle of May after her husband was accepted as an agent into the FBI. Her son and Luke are only 2 months apart and have been buddies since before they turned 1. So I've been busy helping her get her house ready to sell (did I mention she's also 7 1/2 months pregnant with their 3rd child!), watching her kids and anything else I can think of to do with the hopes of keeping my mind off the reality that they're leaving. :(

  • Which brings me to my last 'major' news to report: my friend was also our local Stampin' Up! rep and we're right in the middle of an 8 month stamp camp. She's been 'grooming' me for the takeover if and when they were moving and consequently, you're now reading the blog of one of the newest Stampin' Up! reps. I'm so excited as this is definitely a hobby and passion of mine, but nervous non the less. Commitment phobia I think. :)

Anyway, that's the latest and greatest with us. Sorry for the novel...I'll continue to try and do this on a more regular basis. Hope all is well with you guys!

Okay...maybe one picture. Here is Luke and his best buddy Nathan. He's already sad that he's leaving. Are 4 year olds suppose to catch on to stuff like this already? It's sad. :(

The Flu!

How I got the flu in such awesome weather is beyond me! But boy did I ever have it! And I’m so bummed of the timing of this illness as well. Because my friend Gretchen had her baby girl on Wednesday…the tremendous event of which I was suppose to photograph for them! (Ugh!) And I’m missing my support group meeting tonight where there will be a representative from Make A Wish and the ever-helpful Siri Baland from Sutter Memorial’s Child Life program. Two great things that I missed being present for this week.

However, I was present (sort of) to witness my husband coming to my rescue and calling in sick to take care of the boys for the day on Tuesday. He was able to get them dressed, fed, Luke off to school, get my oil changed in the car, purchase weed killer and fertilizer and then actually USE it on the lawns, bought me a book to read, picked up Luke, feed them again and then put them down for a nap. After just the morning “chores” he promptly came into the bedroom and put his hands down on the footboard of our bed and said he would never be able to be a stay-at-home parent because…”he’s going crazy!”

YES! Vindication!

Happy Easter!

Bring on Spring! We had a fabulous Easter Day yesterday. It started with Luke participating in the children’s Easter worship concert at our church, SouthPort Community Church. This was his first time in front of everyone and he did so well! He even had a solo reading line that he needed to memorize…"Hosannah! To the son of David!" He was so cute and was so proud of himself, as were we. Then we headed off to a local park. We bar-b-que’d, hunted for eggs and played baseball. And it was HOT! Logan’s cheeks are a nice shade of pink now, even with the sunscreen. I hope everyone else enjoyed their day as much as we did!

Little Miss Macie

I got the chance to watch the cutest “little miss” in the whole world this weekend! My niece Macie, turned one this Saturday and we were blessed with her first sleep-over that night, while her mommy and daddy ran their booth at the Sacramento Hair Show. She is the most easy-going “woman” I’ve ever met!! She’s just as content to sit on your lap and play patty-cake as she is to sit on the floor with her big-boy cousins and play trucks. We love her to pieces!

We're in buisness!

Okay, so hopefully I've figured this out and I should be up and running now. I'm so computer-challenged, it's not even funny! Luke even knows more about navigating this thing than I do and he's only 4 for pete's sake! I received a friendly comment from a friend today (hi Valerie!) that if she had to read about last year's Labor Day Weekend again, she'd scream. So this post's for you Valerie!
